Experiments 3 · Home page rewrite

Two home-page rewrite proposals

Both proposals keep the top ten·ten·toon dictionary card intact, delegate the mathematical derivation to Grant Sanderson’s 3Blue1Brown video, and guide the reader through the interactive complex-plane and 4-panel pipeline widgets in a warm, direct tone.

Proposal A · home-triptych

Triptych & Guided Tour

3-panel opening hook · 3b1b video · playground → 4-step pipeline

Opens with a side-by-side triptych (1 · The picture, 2 · Inside itself (Droste), 3 · With a twist (tententoon)) driven by shared Zoom and Twist sliders, then hands the derivation to 3Blue1Brown before walking through both interactive widgets.

Try: scrub Panel 3 twist from 0° to 12.1° · hit Play zoom · drag the unrolled wreath in panel 1.

Proposal B · home-workbench

Workbench First, Video Beside

4-panel pipeline hero · side-by-side 3b1b theatre · complex plane warm-up

Places the 4-panel spiral machine right below the dictionary card so visitors immediately see the ornate celestial & botanical wreath unroll into vertical friezes, tilt at 12.1°, and curl into the spiral, followed by a side-by-side 3Blue1Brown theatre card and the complex-function warm-up.

Try: drag panel 1 · pull the lean slider & hit snap · unroll panel 3 from flat to spiral.

Generated workshop hero picture with an ornate celestial majolica, clockwork, and botanical wreath around the central circular portal.

Single generated hero picture with an ornate portal collar

Inspired by the top community contest winners (The Astronomer’s Teapot, Before the shutter, and Laundry chute in sage tiles), this single image pairs a square sage-and-cream tile grid and four compass landmarks with a richly detailed celestial majolica, brass clockwork, and botanical wreath rim around the central portal.

Because log(z − c) stretches radii near the portal boundary, that ornate collar fills most of the unrolled strip (panel 1) and winds into the main body of the nautilus spiral (panel 3).
